Lady Lions Earn AAC Honors

Dayton, TN-- Five Lady Lion basketball players received honors wednesday from the Appalachian Athletic Conference. the young ladies were recognized in front of their peers at center court of Viking Hall in Bristol, TN during the first day of AAC Tournament action. Katie Davis (Harriman, TN/Oliver Springs HS) earned First-Team All-Conference honors. As voted upon by the league coaches, she was considered one of the top-5 players in the AAC after averaging 16.8 ppg, 7.6 rpg, and 4.0 apg. She was a Third-Team All-AAC Selection last season as a sophomore. Joining Davis on the All-AAC First-Team was Chazaree Wright (Montreat), Rikki Baughman (Milligan), Liz Martin (Covenant), and MVP Brooke Smith (Union). Becca Morris (Jackson, TN/University School) was selected to the All-AAC Freshman Team. The 5'8 guard averaged more than 10 ppg during conference play. Kaylin Carswell (Lenoir, NC/West Caldwell HS), Katie Davis, Amber Smith (Pompano Beach, FL/Highlands Christian Academy), and Wendy Vork (Kingston, ID/Modesto C.C.) earned All-Academic Conference Awards. This is awarded to those varsity members that played in more than half of their team's games and had a 3.25 grade point average or better.
