How do I know if I can take my exam with the ASC?

You may take your exam with the ASC if you’re a Bryan student, you have your instructor’s approval, and you fit into one of the categories below:

  • You fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and need to take exams separately from the rest of your class
  • You need to make up or retake an exam
  • You are enrolled in a Bryan College online course

If I fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), do I have to take exams with the ASC?

Whether or not you take exams with the ASC is up to you and your instructor.  Be sure to discuss your exams with your instructor before you make an exam appointment with the ASC.

Do I have to make an appointment to take my exam with the ASC?

Yes.  To make sure we’ll have your exam and a proctor ready for you, please make an appointment as early as possible. Generally, appointments should be made at least TWO DAYS in advance.

How do I make an appointment to take my exam?

Fill out the student portion of the Student Form (print one off from the ASC homepage link in the right-hand column, or come to the ASC to pick up a hard-copy) and bring the completed form to the ASC desk to schedule your appointment.*

If no one is at the ASC desk, please leave your completed and signed form in the designated box on the desk and email proctoring@bryan.edu with your preferred exam date and time within our proctoring hours.

You are responsible for scheduling an exam appointment within the time specified by your instructor. Please make your appointment as early as possible.

Our Proctoring Hours for Fall 2012 are: M: 6-9pm; T: 3:30-6:30pm; W: 1-5pm; R: 3:30-6:30pm;
 F: 12:00pm-4pm.

Where exactly will I take my exam in the ASC?

You may take your exam in the ASC main area or the ASC Conference Room.

Who will proctor my exam?

The ASC Proctoring Coordinator or the ASC Director will proctor your exam.

Why do I have to get my instructor’s signature?

We need to make sure there is clear communication between you, your instructor, and the ASC.  Your instructor’s signature tells us that the two of you have discussed where you will take your exam and that you have his or her approval to take it with the ASC.

Can my instructor bring the Student Form to the ASC for me?

No.  To avoid miscommunication, please bring the form to us and make an appointment to take the exam yourself.

What if no one is at the ASC desk when I come to make my appointment?

Leave your completed and signed Student Form in the designated box on the desk and email proctoring@bryan.edu with your preferred exam date and time within our proctoring hours. One of the ASC staff members will respond to your email and arrange your appointment.

Can I cancel my appointment after I’ve made it?

Yes.  If you need to cancel your appointment, please email proctoring@bryan.edu or come by the ASC desk as soon as possible.

What happens if I miss my exam appointment?

We will inform your instructor that you missed your appointment and ask for further instructions.  Your instructor or the Proctoring Coordinator will let you know whether to reschedule your appointment.

Does it cost any money to take my exam in the ASC?

No.  Our proctoring service is available without cost to any Bryan student who needs to use it.
