Chopin Celebration honors composer's 200th birthday

Music departments at Bryan College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will honor the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederic Chopin with a “Chopin Celebration” concert February 26 and 27.

On Friday, February 26, outstanding pianists from the two schools will perform four scherzos and four ballades in Bryan’s Rudd Auditorium, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The entire program will be repeated Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in UTC’s Roland Hayes Fine Arts Center. Both concerts are free.

 
Performing the scherzos will be Bryan students Jarod Soltis, Natalie McGehee, Kimberly McKennett and Bryan alumnus Jason DuRoy, who received his Master’s degree in Music from UTC.

 

UTC students Priska Sentana, Alex Ridder, Yeaji Lee and Johan Sentana will perform the ballades.
