MBA student wins essay contest scholarship

Director of Graduate Programs Dr. Adina Scruggs announced that John Doub, current MBA student and graduate of Bryan’s Aspire Degree Completion Program, won an essay contest and a $1,000 scholarship. The Tennessee Labor Management Foundation sponsored the contest; and a committee evaluated essay submissions from Bryan College, Tennessee Wesleyan College, and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga students.

John received his award at the March 11 Tennessee Labor Board’s Annual Conference awards luncheon held at the downtown Chattanooga Doubletree Hotel for his winning essay entitled “What Collaborative Roles Government, Academia, Labor Organizations, and Companies Play in the Creation and Implementation of Green Jobs.”

Dr. Scruggs explained that the awards luncheon program included John sharing highlights from his essay including his thoughts on the future of green initiatives. “John did an outstanding job, and I was very proud of how well he represented Bryan’s Aspire graduates as well as our current MBA students.”
