Seniors, faculty, staff honored

Twenty-two seniors were recognized for outstanding achievement during Bryan’s annual Honors Day chapel April 28.Those honored included:

Beasley |
Caleb Beasley, a senior from Springfield, Tenn., received the Melvin M. Seguine Award, given to a male student who plans to continue in graduate studies that will culminate in missionary or pastoral service for the Lord.
Davila |
Eduardo Davila, a senior from Miami, Fla., received the John C. Anderson Award, given to a Biblical Studies major who has excelled academically throughout his or her Bible program.

Bailey Payne, a senior from Pikeville, Tenn., received the Christian Ministry Award to Outstanding Senior, for her achievement in that major.

Tori Stewart, a senior from Cleveland, Tenn., received the Senior Communication Studies Scholarship Award, in recognition of her achievement in that major.

Allison McLean, a senior from Powder Springs, Ga., received the Triangle Senior Award in recognition of ser contribution to the college newspaper staff.

Kimberly McKennett, a senior from Anchorage, Alaska, received the F. R. Rogers Senior Award in Music, recognizing her achievement in the major.

Allison Underwood, a senior from Pikeville, Tenn., received the Chamber Singer of the Year award in recognition of her contribution to that musical ensemble.

Lindsey Wolfe, a senior from Indianapolis, Ind., received the Hilltop Players Senior Award in recognition of her contribution to the college theatre troupe.

Olivia Pool, a senior from Powell, Tenn., received the Outstanding Senior in Business award in recognition of her accomplishments in that major.

Paul Shearer, a senior from Lebanon, Tenn., received the History Department Senior Award in recognition of his accomplishments in the major.

Kyla Hill, a senior from Cana, Va., received the Outstanding Senior in Politics and Government award in recognition of her achievement in the major.

Philip Meznar, a senior from Boone, N.C., received the Senior Math Award, in recognition of his accomplishments in the major.

Andrew Slikker, a senior from Dayton, Tenn., received the Willard L. Henning Biology Award in recognition of his accomplishment in the major.

Dr. Mel Wilhoit, professor of music, received the first Scholar of the Year Award, presented in recognition of a faculty members outstanding scholarship, publications and contribution to the college community. He also was honored for 30 years of service.
Dr. Bill Ketchersid and Dr. Martin Hartzell were honored for 35 years of service to the college. Dr. Ketchersid and Dr. Jack Traylor were recognized on their retirement at the end of the academic year.
