The Bryan Music Department will present its Spring Musical Showcase concert featuring student and faculty performances Thursday, April 29.

The Bryan Chorale will perform selections from their 2010 European Tour.

“The final Showcase is a great opportunity to celebrate the wide variety of talent we have in the music and theatre departments,” department head Dr. Mel Wilhoit said. “The concert should have something for everyone’s tastes—from Broadway show tunes to opera arias to novelty piano pieces (“Who Let the Cows Out”) to a scene from a dramatic play, concluding with the Chorale singing some spirituals that will be performed on the European Tour.”

Instrumental numbers will include a piano trio by Dvorak, piano solos, a piano duet, and two arrangements for flute ensemble. Vocal selections will include a medley from West Side Story, as well as “The Berrett Song” from Titanic.  The program will close with selections from the Chorale’s May 10-24, 2010, European Tour.

Spring Showcase is a free concert and will be presented in Rudd Auditorium beginning at 7:30 p.m.
