Bryan College 4, Crown College 1
Bryan College's Classic Team continued it's winning ways on Friday as it travelled north of Knoxville to compete against Crown College. Crown came into the game with a 5-2 record and several quality additions to their line-up for 2007. The Lions came into the match riding a two game winning streak and a record of 2-1.
Early in the match it was clear that the Lions were going to be difficult to beat as they forced the Crown goalkeeper to make some quality saves. In the 12th minute the deadlock was broken as striker Ben Whitley picked up a ball on the left flank and cut across the top of the box, striking a right-footed blast into the top left-hand corner of the net and catching the keeper off guard. The battle continued and Crown created several dangerous opportunities that were swallowed up by goalkeeper Christian Litwin. In the 26th minute of the match, Drew Goodman assisted freshman Tyler Cheek who chipped the keeper beautifully and extended the Lion lead to two goals. The Lions continued to press with fresh legs and in the 40th minute substitute Seth Flores got his first goal of the season with a nice assist by Paul Shanks. Shortly after Flores' goal, Crown countered with a goal of their own. Halftime score : Bryan 3, Crown 1.

The second half began with Bryan pushing harder to continue to attack and only five minutes in Chris Matthews served a beautiful cross to the back post that found the head of Drew Goodman who nodded it over the keeper to score the final goal for the Lions on the day. The depth of Bryan's squad showed in the second half as Bryan got great minutes from all who travelled in order to preserve this important road victory.
