Biography

Dr. Clark Rose joined Bryan College in 2001. He is a Tenured Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Psychology Department. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Mental Health Service Provider with the State of Tennessee. Clark is a Tennessee native having been born in Chattanooga, TN while attending Boyd-Buchanan School (K-6) and McCallie School (7-12). He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a Business Minor and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He played baseball at The University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he was an Academic All-American and Captain. He was a graduate assistant coach as well. He earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Georgia, Athens. He worked in the mental health field for several years serving adolescents and adults. In 1994, Clark married Yvonne, a professor in the Exercise & Health Science Department at Bryan College. They have 2 adult children, Annessa and Reece. They currently reside in Spring City, TN.

Each graduation in May as the Psychology seniors walk across that stage to receive their diplomas, it is bittersweet because each one is like one of my own kids and part of the bigger Bryan family. Bryan faculty and staff care about one another and there is a great sense of community here.
