Welcome to Arnold Hall! My name is Bonnie Spallinger and this will be my second year as a Resident Director at Arnold Hall. I have recently moved from living in Germany for three years. There I worked as a missionary at an international boarding school for high school students. Now I am thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know you as your Resident Director. I am so glad that you are joining the Arnold community. I hope that you will consider Arnold Hall as your comfortable new home. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions or concerns.
Resident Director, Arnold HallRaised in Bluffton, Ohio, Bonnie finds it hard to limit herself to one hometown, including the likes of Juneau, Alaska and Kandern, Germany in the discussion.
Bonnie earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Taylor University (In.) and is currently working on an M.A. in Counseling from Liberty University (Va.). Before coming to Bryan, she worked several years at Black Forest Academy in Germany and in the leadership of Echo Ranch Bible Camp in Juneau, Alaska.
In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys watching movies, spending time with people, plotting adventure on the road to visiting friends and making incredible pork Thai wraps.

Where I want to travel: Ireland or New Zealand, which has all the beauty of Australia, without the snakes.
A famous person I've met: I have eaten at the same restaurant as Carrie Underwood.
A random fact about myself: Performed the Heimlich maneuver on my baby sister when I was 8 years old, and saved her from choking. (Granted, the only reason she only swallowed the penny because I had convinced her she couldn’t make them disappear.)
Why I wanted to become an RA: God made me a people person. I was that kid in school who was always getting in trouble for joking around and talking when I was supposed to be paying attention. This is just how I am wired. I love getting to know those around me, and finding something to laugh about. I wanted to become and RA because of this, I want to be there for the girls on my hall every day. My door will always be open for them, to come with problems, stories or whatever they need.
What I love about Bryan: I love the classic small school environment of Bryan. I love that I can know my fellow students well and that the professors can too. For all the joking about the emphasis on community at Bryan there really is a great support system here. I have grown in my faith and as a person since coming to school and Bryan has been a wonderful place for this.
