From a table and four chairs in the English Department office to almost half of one floor of the library, the Bryan College Writing Center has evolved into an Academic Support Center that serves hundreds of students across the disciplines.
Its modest beginnings, designed to help developing students master the art of writing college-level papers, have given way to a program that offers exam proctoring, help for writing research papers, and mastering calculus, a language, or the finer points of cell biology.
The Academic Support Center is located on the east wing of the first floor of the Library.

Writing Center (Resources for Online and Onsite Students)There is something shockingly permanent about writing–it remains long after the writer's initial thought, emotion, or impulse passes, after the writer himself is gone. Writing distances the composer and the reader–the words have to stand alone and speak for themselves, without a spoken apologia from the one to the other. Paradoxically, writing draws people together, connecting us with ideas and with each other.
Are you having difficulty mastering a language? Don't understand that complex math problem? Need help learning dates or concepts for Dr. Rickett's Western Civ test? Would you like to bounce around ideas and thoughts with someone else who shares your passion for a specific discipline? Then the Academic Support's Tutoring services are for you! You'll be paired with one of your peers who has a solid grasp on the subject in which you would like to sharpen you skills and who is dedicated to helping you succeed. Remember that this is a free service to you as a Bryan student!
Exam ProctoringThe ASC Exam Proctoring Service supports the Bryan community by proctoring exams for students who need special accommodations, who need to take an exam outside of regular class time, or who are enrolled in online courses at Bryan College.
