An optional Christian Life Formation course examining the Epistle of James in an innovative retreat setting. International Leadership Forum: a commentery on the American National Election. This chapel will focus on the remaining hours before the last vote is cast, with commentary provided by an eclectic group of professors and one staff member, to include: Drs. Ketchersid, Kennard, Turner, and Pascucci; and Messrs. Palmer and Clark; Dean of Students, Mr. Bruce Morgan. Dr. Ron Petitte, who directs Bryan’s Center for Leadership Studies and the Department of Politics & Government, will moderate the discussion.
Mr. Sam Spatola of Saints Equipped to Evanglize and the Italy Abroad Semester's partner Saints Bible Institute will be speaking, continuing on the theme, "The Power and Beauty of the Gospel Throughout the World." He and his wife, Chris, have
been church planters and missionaries to Italy since 1978. Born in Italy, Sam grew up in Los Angeles and later graduated from Spokane Bible College with a bachelor of Divinity degree.
Dr. Beth Impson, Professor of English at Bryan, will be sharing her compelling thoughts on the nature and purposes of beauty. Beth has her BA, MA, and PhD in English from the University of Kansas and has taught over 20 years in public universities and Christian colleges. Beth and her husband have 5 children and 14 grandchildren. Beth’s publications include her book, Called to Womanhood, as well as articles and reviews in World and Touchstone. Peacock is often noted as a unique musical and lyrical voice, intelligent, innovative, and difficult to categorize. His resume includes touring artist, much-recorded songwriter, record company president, seminary student, jazz pianist/composer, and most recently, Sr. A&R consultant to mega-music publisher Sony/ATV.
Charlie's songwriting and production credits include Switchfoot, Amy Grant, Sara Groves, David Crowder Band, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Béla Fleck, Sixpence None The Richer, Al Green, Audio Adrenaline, and many more.
In addition to working with Jon Foreman on his solo EPs, Charlie is currently working on new singer-songwriter material and his next book, tentatively titled "Buechner's Rock." Charlie recently released Arc Of The Circle, an improvisational duets recording with saxophonist Jeff Coffin featuring guests, drummer Derrek Phillips (Charlie Hunter), and guitarist Marc Ribot (Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, John Zorn).
Charlie recently finished his Art Music Justice Tour with friends Sara Groves and Derek Webb.
