Bryan Calendar - Bryan College Events

Thanksgiving Break - The break begins Wednesday, November 25, and students return to campus on Sunday, November 29, 2009. The college is closed Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, 2009.

Final Exams begin on Tuesday, December 15, and go through Friday, December 18. A special schedule is followed during final exam week.

Commencement exercises for December graduates will be held at the Tivoli Theatre, Chattanooga. Graduates will be admitted to the auditorium for rehearsal at 6:15 pm. Admission of family members and guests to the auditorium will be at 7 pm. The program will begin at 7:30 pm, and a reception for graduates, their families and guests will follow in the lobby of the Tivoli. Parking for this event will be in the BlueCross BlueShield parking garage near the Tivoli. The Tivoli is located in the downtown area of Chattanooga at 709 Broad Street.

This is the last day to Withdraw Passing or Withdraw Failing.

This is the last day of the fall semester. Students leave the campus after final exams/commencement exercises.

The fourth graduating class of the MBA at Bryan will be recognized at a dinner for them and a guest on Friday evening, December 4, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Library, Bryan College Campus, second floor.

Formerly known as the "Bryan Film Lecture Series," this year's "Story & Craft Series" will embrace the multi-disciplinary arts that come together to produce a film. These events will be held at Create Here, 55 East Main Street, Suite 105, Chattanooga, Tn 37408. Guest speaker; Pinckney Benedict is called by Joyce Carol Oates “one of the most distinctive voices of his generation.” Pinckney is a novelist and scriptwriter who is currently working on a script with Francis Coppola and will be talking to us via Skype.

The Christmas Banquet for students is held in the Latimer Student Center. The theme is White Christmas.

As part of our chapel theme of imaging Christ through culture and the creative arts, we've asked several Bryan film majors to construct a series of films that will inspire us to consider the powerful medium of film.

Classes will meet at various locations on campus.

The Presidential Scholarship is the highest academic honor Bryan College awards to incoming freshmen. Those chosen to compete for these scholarships will be named Presidential Scholars and interviewed by a faculty selection committee during Presidential Weekend to determine the Presidential Merit Scholars. The application deadline is today.

Coffee, Cookies, and Composition will take place in the Academic Support Center in the library. This event will begin at 7:30 P.M. and end at 10:00 P.M.

This is a wonderful tradition to kick off your Christmas season. Cost is $15.00 for adults, children 3-6 are $7.50.
