Scourge Conference: The Criminal Justice Response to Human Trafficking.
In this opening session, Andrea Saccoccio of the International Justice Mission, will help us consider a Christian response to social injustice. Andrea Saccoccio serves as Director of Student Ministries for International Justice Mission. IJM is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.
Ms. Saccoccio regularly speaks at venues across the United States, partnering with leaders around the country to equip a “Justice Generation” of students who are passionate about answering God’s call to seek justice for the oppressed. She has traveled extensively in Eastern Europe, South Asia, India and Africa, where she has seen first-hand the suffering that results from violent oppression. Compelled by the reality of violent oppression and the Christian call to respond to it, Ms. Saccoccio works to educate, equip and provide opportunities for young people to be actively involved in great works of service in the world.
