Dean's Scholarship

Criteria

The Dean’s Scholarship is a competitive scholarship awarded to incoming freshmen. Those chosen to compete for these scholarships will be named Dean’s Scholars and interviewed by a selection committee during the Dean’s Scholarship Event to determine the Dean’s Merit Scholars.  

 

·      Spring 2009 high school graduate

·      Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 (6 terms)

·      ACT 24 or SAT 1100 (reading/math)

·      Be granted early acceptance to Bryan College

 

Application Process

Award (per year)

·      Admissions Application

·      Scholarship Application

·      500 to 1,000 word essay, “In what ways will studying at Bryan College prepare you as a leader in today’s world?”

·      Dean’s Merits Scholars: $7,000 (ten percent selected)

·      Dean’s Scholars (ACT 26/SAT 1180 and above): $4,000

·      Dean’s Scholars (ACT 24-25/SAT 1100-1170): $3,000

·      Bryan GPA 3.0 – 100%

·      Bryan GPA 2.5 to 2.99 – 50%

·      Bryan GPA 2.0 to 2.49 – 25%

·      Bryan GPA below 2.0 – 0%

·      January 31, 2009: Deadline for early acceptance, scholarship application and essay

·      Early February: Invitations to Dean’s Scholarship Event sent

·      February 26-27: Dean’s Scholarship Event – dinner on 26th and interviews on 27th

·      Beginning March 9: Dean’s Merit Scholars notified
