Christian Formation

Christian Formation

Christian Formation at Bryan College focuses on students’ holistic spiritual growth. Staff and faculty at Bryan walk alongside students in this process, and the Christian Formation team seeks to engage the head, hearts, and hands of students. Our hope is that as students learn about Jesus, they are passionate about their relationship with Him and live this out in their lives and communities. Christian Formation is composed of Chapel, Spiritual Development, and ENGAGE.

It has been so special to be back as a staff member, and I am extremely grateful that the Lord has opened the door for this. I love getting to know students and connecting them with ministry opportunities, and it is a joy to watch them grow in their walk with the Lord.

Spiritual & Ministry Opportunities

Our Christian Formation team seeks to engage the head, hearts, and hands of students.

The Chapel Program weaves together a variety of elements including musical worship, guest speakers, and corporate prayer. Guests come from around the world and around the corner to join our community as we study and think, pray and worship together. Through these corporate gatherings, students are challenged to lives of real faith and integrity, humility, and moral courage. Bryan College invites the Rhea County community to Chapel, which is held Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays during the regular academic term, at 10 am in Rudd Auditorium.

The Spiritual Development Program provides students with a variety of opportunities to learn more about their faith in a more intimate setting. Workshops, panel discussions, student-led worship nights, discipleship groups, and film screenings are offered throughout the semester and address topics pertinent to daily Christian living. The goal of these opportunities is to give students the chance to learn about their faith from and with others and to explore more deeply topics in which they are interested.

ENGAGE is our outreach program at Bryan. It consists of panel discussions with community leaders, fall and spring Service Days, fall and spring break mission trips, and consistent opportunities to serve in the local community. ENGAGE seeks to equip students with habits of service that they will take with them when they graduate, leading to a lifetime of service in their families, churches, and communities.

PALS is a mentorship program that matches a Bryan student with a kid in the community. It is for ages 5-18 and includes homework help, playing games, and providing opportunities for kids to flourish. It is a unique opportunity for community kids to spend some time on a college campus with a college student. Special events are sometimes held, including girl’s and guy’s nights, All PALS events, and a PALS Field Day in the spring.
