The Kenya Project

The partnership between Bryan College Enactus (formerly SIFE) and Gethsemane International, Inc., began in 2010.  Gethsemane is a non-profit, Christian organization that provides Christian homes for orphans in Kenya, Africa, that have been orphaned through war, poverty, and disease.  Gethsemane is starting a high school for these orphans to provide them with an education that will help sustain their future.

2010-2011 Report

Enactus committed to supporting the high school through raising the necessary funds to start the school.  Through fundraising activities and raising awareness both on campus and in the community, over $10,000 was raised through Enactus’ marketing contributions; and Gethsemane’s high school is set to begin in January 2012.

2011-2012 Initiatives

Enactus will continue to work with Gethsemane by promoting entrepreneurship and helping Gethsemane earn income to become a self-sustaining organization.  Enactus also plans to donate computers to the high school to provide an opportunity for the orphans to learn computer skills.  To learn more about Gethsemane International, visit their website.

Bryan Enactus will hold the 2nd Annual “5k for Kenya" on November 19 to raise funds for The Kenya Project.
