While the building itself bears the name, it's the people that make Long Hall the place that it is. Each year the different personalities of its residents serve as the ingredients to an amazing concoction that is different from the year before and that I could have never imagined. Perhaps you will be one of those personalities soon...so look around and get a feel for H.D. Long Hall!
Resident Director, H.D. Long Hall; Director of Men's HousingMatt was born and raised east of Atlanta in Decatur, Ga., but has proudly called the Chattanooga/Dayton area his home for some 12 years.
Matt earned a B.A. in English Literature from Bryan College and is currently working on an M.A. in Higher Education from Geneva College (Pa.). Matt worked in journalism for several years following his undergraduate education, but made his way back to higher education student affairs following his experience as a resident assistant during college.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with wife Kati and son Caleb, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Falcons, watching movies with friends, reading for pleasure, playing Settlers of Catan, hiking the Cumberland Trail and patroning America’s best independently-owned donut shops.
