Maranatha Guest House
Welcome to the Maranatha Guest House, the official lodging for Bryan College speakers and guests. Originally built in the late 1940s, this house has served in many capacities over the years, including residence for female students during the 1980s and early 1990s. It consists of three stories, with eleven rooms and three bathrooms.
Each guest room, in addition to its closet, comes furnished with a bed, a mirror, a small chair, a nightstand with a lamp, and a clock, provided by Akins Furniture in Fort Payne, Alabama. The comfortable seating in both common areas is courtesy of Jackson Furniture in Cleveland, Tennessee. Cable television is available in the common areas, and Wi-Fi internet is provided throughout the house over a guest network.
Main Floor (2nd)
The second floor acts as personal living space for Jonathan Bacon who serves as Environmental Services Assistant to the Physical Plant.
This floor features three guest rooms, a bathroom, and a
common area for watching TV, reading, or relaxing. The three bedrooms feature either a queen or full bed. This floor can be reserved for guests with families or for multiple guests. The hosting department must decide if they want their guests to share the single bathroom. Over the garage is a large storage room that could be a fifth guest room if the need ever arises.
This floor offers our main guest room with a queen bed, a bathroom, and a common area. The space can be reserved for one guest or for a guest and their spouse. The first floor has a kitchenette as well as a private side entrance with a gravel drive that comes down from the front of the house. The door at the bottom of the stairs locks from both sides to provide privacy.
The Maranatha House does not offer meals. Hosting departments are responsible for supplying guests with a meal card for the Dining Hall
and any other items such as a fruit basket or soft drinks in the refrigerator. Coffee and a few snacks are provided compliments of Jonathan Bacon.
The guest rooms can be reserved for official college business only, on a first come, first served basis. Guest room availability can be viewed on the Maranatha Guest House Reservation Schedule
, located on the Department of Student Services & Ministries link under the Resources tab in the eStaff and eFaculty portals. Hosting departments are charged $50 a night for either the Upstairs Suite or the Downstairs Suite. Reservations can be made by contacting Diana Buttram
in the Office of Student Services & Ministries.
