Bryan College said “congratulations” and “thank you” to President and Mrs. Livesay Friday, February 1, as Dr. Livesay celebrated his 10th anniversary as the college’s president.
Dr. and Mrs. Livesay speak with Dayton Mayor Bob Vincent, left, and operations Vice President Tim Hostetler, second from left. Master of Ceremonies Joseph Murphy, Student Government Association vice president, told students, faculty, and staff gathered in the dining hall for the noon meal, that the brief ceremony was intended to honor the Livesays for their contribution to the college. He pointed out their tireless efforts on behalf of the college and their commitment to the students.
Joseph introduced Dayton Mayor Bob Vincent who echoed that idea in his remarks. “What I see as an outsider is that a lot of what has been accomplished has has been focused on you students,” he said.
He also commended Dr. Livesay for his efforts to build relationships between the college and community, particularly through the Martin Luther King Community Service Day and the teacher education program which has provided many teachers for Dayton City School. “His leadership, his interest in the community and school is remarkable. We as the mayor and city council are grateful.”
Pioneer College Caterers provided an anniversary cake for guests and students for the occasion.
