The deadline is nearing to reserve seats for the sixth annual Bryan Opportunity Program dinner, featuring Leigh Anne Touhy of “The Blind Side.”
Leigh Anne Tuohy Proceeds from the dinner on April 18 will help enable qualified Tennessee students from low-income families to attend Bryan College with tuition covered.
Tickets for the program, which begins with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center, are $50. Registration for the dinner ends April 11.
Mrs. Touhy, mother of Superbowl XLVII Champion Michael Oher, was featured in the New York Times best-seller The Blind Side, and in the movie of the same name, which set box office records when it opened in 2009.
“We are delighted to have LeAnne Touhy with us for the Bryan Opportunity Dinner,” said Blake Hudson, Bryan’s vice president for advancement. “She brings a message that is both challenging and full of hope, a message that should be truly inspirational.”
This year, 65 students are attending Bryan through the Bryan Opportunity Program. Callie Dawkins, a senior business administration major from Lakeland, Tenn., also will speak about her experience at Bryan, made possible by the program.
