Tickets on sale for Fall Musical Showcase

October 23, 2014

Oct. 23, 2014 — Tickets are now on sale for the Bryan College Music Department’s annual Fall Musical Showcase, to take place Friday, Oct. 31.

The featured work will be the first movement of Robert Schumann’s “Piano Concerto in A minor, Op 54,” performed by new piano and theory professor Olivia Ellis. From devotional and praise pieces such as Michael W. Smith’s “Shine on Us” and Franz Schubert’s “Mass in G” to operatic selections from Wolfgang Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro” and everything in between, the concert will showcase the incredible talents of the music department.

Music Department Head Dr. Mel Wilhoit called this year’s showcase “a real Halloween treat,” commenting, “Our Fall Musical Showcase has something for everyone, from exciting orchestral works featuring familiar songs to works for chorus and piano concertos. The concert features our students and musical ensembles in an amazing variety show that’s a musical highlight of the semester.”

This concert begins at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, Oct. 31, in Rudd Auditorium on Bryan’s Dayton, TN, campus.
