November 3, 2015 – Yesterday ticket sales were opened for the upcoming fine arts concert Dona Nobis Pacem next Friday evening, November 13 at 7:30 P.M.
This concert promises to enchant attendees with selections from throughout the years and as far back as the 18th century. It will be performed by soloists and choral ensemble, accompanied by orchestra, performing a variety of lovely pieces, such as Craig Courtney’s “Festival Gloria,” “If I Can’t Love Her” from Menkin and Rice’s Beauty and the Beast, selections from Edward Elgar’s Dream Children, and Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major.” After intermission the evening transitions into the concert’s namesake with a stunning rendition of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ cantata Dona Nobis Pacem (Latin for “grant us peace”).
