November 14, 2016 – Beginning this year, Bryan College will participate in the global social media holiday known as Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29. All donations received will go towards the Bryan Scholarship Fund, which provides students with financial assistance to be able to attend Bryan.
“Together, we can give a Christian worldview education to a deserving student,” said Janice Pendergrass, Director of Advancement at Bryan College. “Whether you can give $5 or $500, every gift matters.”
Everyone is welcome to contribute including students, parents, alumni, and friends of Bryan. An anonymous donor has offered to match each Giving Tuesday gift received up to a total of $1,000. This means that your $5 gift becomes $10 or your $25 gift becomes $50.
Now in its fifth year, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving designed to break away from the mindset of buying and instead focus on a spirit of giving. Last year, more than 115,000 colleges, universities, and nonprofits participated, raising a total of $116 million for their causes.
Throughout the coming days, Bryan students will be sharing stories about how donors’ contributions have impacted their lives through scholarships on the school’s social media accounts and in emails sent to supporters.
