Messianic Hope in Isaiah 61

Originally from Charleston, West Virginia, Dr. Raymond Legg received the Doctor of Arts in English at Middle Tennessee State University.  He holds undergraduate diplomas in Bible/Theology and American Intercultural Ministries from Moody Bible Institute, and a BA in Anthropology from Northeastern Illinois University.  In addition, Dr. Legg earned his M.Div. at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and MA at the University of TN at Chattanooga.  His areas of special interest are Poetry, American and African-American Literature, Film Studies, and Pop Culture.

Dr. Legg has been involved in higher education both in the classroom and as an administrator since 1987 and is presently Professor of English and Chairman of the Department of English, Modern Languages, and Liberal Arts at Bryan College in Dayton, TN.  He also serves as coordinator of International Studies Programs at Bryan.

Dr. Legg has extensive experience in church ministry and he serves as pulpit supply for area churches.  He has been pastor of congregations in Illinois and North Dakota, and Tennessee.

An honorably discharged U.S. Navy/Viet Nam veteran, Dr. Legg and Margie, his wife of 45 years, have one child, Joshua who lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Hannah.
