Why Italy Abroad?

The Heart

Time at Saints Bible Institute revolves around spiritual growth, evangelism, and discipleship. The day-to-day lifestyle of a missionary becomes real as students develop relationships with families church-planting in the nearby city of Udine.

Italy has sometimes been called the forgotten mission field—less than 1 percent of its 60 million people profess an evangelical understanding of the Gospel. Though rich with church history and brimming with religious activity, many Italians have never considered the Christian faith outside of its historical and cultural expressions in Italy.

Ministry week is set aside for hands-on missions experiences such as tract distribution, mimes, children’s ministries like puppets and clowns, chalk-talks, and one-on-one evangelism. Students are introduced to the Italian-speaking branch of the body of Christ as they worship and fellowship with Italian believers.
