Robinson Hall
|
|
Built in 2006, Robinson Hall still has the unspoiled freshness of being the newest residence hall on campus and was designed with today's student in mind: providing plenty of places for hanging out with friends while retaining a quiet atmosphere for studying and resting. It is my prayer that you will find your place in our Robinson Hall family.
Kim Crowe-Tuttle
Resident Director, F.E. Robinson Hall ("The Palace")

An interesting fact about my building: “North Hall” – as it was popularly referred to – opened its doors to students during August of 2006, but didn’t receive its official name until March of 2007.
My best residence life memory from college: Hanging out with friends – usually in the Lion's Den - playing UNO or video games or shooting pool or just spending time talking about life, hopes/dreams, and the nature of God.
My passions: People and communication
Something I want to do before I die: Parachute
What made me want to be an RD: I love challenging students to apply their Christianity to everyday choices as I build relationships with them. As an RD, I have the opportunity to do this in various ways: holding students accountable for their choices, providing a sympathetic or empathetic ear when needed, speaking the Truth in love, modeling a balanced yet realistic lifestyle which includes my struggles and failures as well as my successes, encouraging leadership and support skills, teaching everyday life lessons, and providing a “mom-perspective” when needed.
What I love about Bryan: As a former student (alumnus) and current employee I particularly love that our motto and purpose have remained the same: to provide a solid, applicable Biblical foundation to students which forces them to THINK deeply and use what they learn. Because Bryan is a close community that encourages faculty, staff, and students to develop close relationships which allows them the opportunities to sharpen and stretch each other.

If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable." - C.S. Lewis

About me: Everyday that we are given is a new opportunity...Seize the day! I’m all about waking up early to go for a run before the sun comes up. I love the outdoors; crazy about stars and sometimes I just sleep on my back porch to feel closer to God. I tend to be overly passionate about everything. Sometimes it makes choosing a direction hard and I’m tagged quickly as indecisive. I’m all about adventures and taking risks. Laughter is essential. There is little better in this world than the laugh-so-hard-you-cry feeling. Though I’m all for having fun, I have always taken life seriously and hard work is often the difference between try and triumph. The journey has just begun. I’m simply striving to be my best. I am such a broken person and I fail time and time again. God’s grace has overwhelmed me when I needed it most, and I would not be the person I am today without Him.
A word that describes me: Enthusiastic
Favorite food: Cheerios
Favorite Bible verses: Philippians 4:11, "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God."
Favorite quotes: "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things" (Robert Brault). "Correction does much, but encouragement does more” (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe).
Interests/Sports: Playing on playgrounds. Hiking. Completing things that look impossible. Live music. Learning new things. Gymnastics, Baseball, Track & Field, and Soccer!
Where I want to travel: Africa, Philippians, Israel, Crete, Barcelona, London, Caribbean… on and on..
Something I want to do before I die: Run a marathon
A famous person I've met: Nastia Liukin
A random fact about myself: I swear my feet are claustrophobic, so if you catch me wearing shoes, consider yourself blessed.
Why I wanted to become an RA: I use to be painfully shy but as I continue to grow in Christ I realized that there is a freedom in life. And everyday I’m learning better to truly live. I am passionate about helping girls grow into the young women they were meant to be. Hopefully be an extra encouragement in girls' lives to embrace the beauty of our uniquenesses and use them to bring glory to God.
