Rudd Renovation & Expansion to 1,200 Seats

Rudd Auditorium, Bryan’s iconic campus building, is named for Judson A. Rudd, Bryan’s third president (1933-1955).  Over the course of its 35+-year history, Rudd has been the site of thousands of chapels, theatre and music productions, community events, and more.  Here's the place to share your favorite Rudd memory and to read others' stories.
This project is part of The Master's Plan, a major phase in the overall Strategic Plan: Vision 2020.

If you would like more information or would like to donate funds to this project, please contact Blake Hudson or Steve Keck at 423.775.7323 or advancement@bryan.edu.
With Rudd’s constant use and the campus’s growing enrollment, the time has come to renovate Rudd and expand its seating capacity.

During the 2012 and 2013 summer breaks and as funds become available, our goal is to complete the following projects:
  • Replace all existing seats
  • Add additional space to the stage
  • Install new sound system
  • Renovate lobby and restrooms
  • Upgrade landscaping, parking lots, and sidewalks
  • Add a new building facade to the Landes Way side of the building
  • Extend balcony seating to 400
Work has begun this summer, and we are raising funds through the Buy-a-Chair Campaign to fund its continuation.  Because $250 is what it costs to refurbish each chair, if you give $250 or more, you will be recognized in our Summer 2012 issue of Bryan Life magazine, which goes to all alumni and friends of the college.
