Graduation set Saturday in Rudd
May 07, 2013
Bryan will honor some 180 seniors at graduation ceremonies Saturday, May 11, and 13 Golden Grads will be recognized on the 50th anniversary of their graduation.
The 2012 May commencement service was held in
Rudd Auditorium because of inclement weather.
Plans call for services for both the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and the School of Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS) to be held on the college Triangle on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. In case of inclement weather, the services will be moved to Rudd Auditorium.
Senior Andrew Smith, a biblical studies major from Athens, Tenn., will speak at the SAS graduation service, and Elizabeth Baltimore, an MBA student from Birchwood, Tenn., will speak at the AGS ceremony. During the earlier service, the Golden Grads will be presented certificates marking their special anniversary.
Members of the Class of 1963 were invited to return to campus to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation, and 13 have indicated they will come, Alumni Director Paulakay Hall said. Their celebration will begin today with a reception and campus tours in the afternoon and a dinner tonight. During a fellowship time following dinner the Golden Grads will have a special prayer service for the Class of 2013.
