Bryan College Voicemail

 

Initial setup

  1. Dial 575 [or your extension] from your phone.
  2. When the system asks for your "personal security code," (and you have not yet used your mailbox) enter the default personal security code of 27926 or "Bryan."
  3. The system will then ask you a series of questions. Press 1 for “yes” or 2 for “no.” During this time you will be asked to record your name, choose a personal security code, record your greeting(s), etc. Be prepared to spend several minutes while the system takes you through all of the necessary steps to setup your mailbox.
  4. Note: With the new system you have the option of recording 3 separate greetings (after the inital setup) – the “Standard Greeting” is what callers hear if you do not answer your phone and the call is transferred to voicemail; the “Busy Greeting” plays if someone tries to call you while you are already on the phone with another call; the “Alternate Greeting” is where you can save a greeting for when you are going to be out of the office, etc. and can be activated through the “setup options” menu of your voicemail box.*
  5. When the system tells you that your mailbox is set up, press ‘1’ to confirm.
*The "setup options" menu is only available to Faculty and Staff.

 

To Activate / Enable your voicemail to pickup when you aren't able to answer:

  1. *3 575 sends your calls to voicemail if you don't answer (to deactivate-press #3)
  2. *2 575 sends your calls to voicemail immediately (to deactivate – press #2)

NOTE: You will not be able to use your phone as long as *2 is activated. You will get a fast busy signal when you try to dial out.


To Check your voicemail from your phone:
  1. Dial 575 or your extension
  2. Put in your personal security code and follow the prompts given to play, archive, redirect, delete, etc.


To Check your voicemail from off campus:
  1. Dial 775-7575
  2. Enter your personal ID when the greeting begins to play; your Personal ID is the number 9 plus your 3 digit extension.
  3. The system will then ask you to enter your personal security code.
  4. Follow the voice prompts to check your messages.


 

To Check your voicemail from an on-campus phone (other than your own):

  1. Dial 575 and any time during the greeting hit the "#" key
  2. Enter your personal ID when the greeting begins to play: your Personal ID is the number 9 plus your 3 digit extension.
  3. The system will then ask you to enter your personal security code.
  4. Follow the voice prompts to check your messages.


To Change your greeting*:

  1. Call 575 if you are at your phone. (If you are away from your phone call 775-7575 and enter your personal ID – 9 plus your ext.)
  2. Enter your Personal Security Code
  3. Press 7 for “Setup Options”
  4. Press 4 for “Greetings”
  5. Press 6 to edit your “Standard Greeting” and record the new greeting when prompted
  6. Press 7 to edit your “Alternate Greeting” and record the new greeting when prompted
  7. Press 8 to edit your “Busy Greeting” and record the new greeting when prompted
  8. Follow the system prompts to save your greeting(s) when you are satisfied with your recording.
  9. Press * to return to the main menu

*The "setup options" menu is only available to Faculty and Staff. Students must call x333, the Helpdesk, and have their voicemail reset to the "Initial Setup" in order to change their greeting. Current "new" and "archived" messages will not be lost in the process.
