Academic FAQs - New Students

Below is a list of common questions. If you have other questions not listed, please contact Admissions at 423.775.7585 or admissions@bryan.edu.

How do I register for classes if I haven't done so already?

When you deposited, you received an email with a link to a short online form — from that info our Registrar's office sets up your initial class schedule!

Where can I find a list of the classes being offered?

Click here to view the Fall 2021 Course Offering.

What if I want to change a class that I have been preregistered to take?

On Arrival Day — you will meet with either an Academic Advisor or a Student Success Coach (if you are undecided on major) who will help you go through your schedule and if necessary, help you make changes. So there is no confusion: your Academic Advisor is not the same as your Admissions Counselor.

Who will advise me on the classes I need to be taking?

Your Academic Advisor or Student Success Coach will guide you in reaching your educational and personal goals during your first year at Bryan College. They will help you schedule your classes, discuss your passions and interests, assist in any academic challenges that arise, and help you integrate into life at Bryan! You will get to meet with your Advisor or Student Success Coach on Arrival Day.

What if I have changed my mind about my major?

The major you have chosen impacts the classes you are preregistered to take. So, you should send an email to registrar@bryan.edu if you decide to change your major.

What if I have a learning disability or need special accommodations?

Please contact our ADA Coordinator at ada@bryan.edu if you need to talk about any special needs you might have that will affect your academic performance. For more information, click here.

Is there tutoring available if I need extra help with my school work?

YES!! Absolutely. Our Academic Resource Center (ARC) is a resource for all students and is not only available, but it is also strongly encouraged for even the best student! Tutors will help you with papers, homework, and preparing for upcoming tests. Go here for more information.

Where can I get more information about the classes required for specific majors, class policies, and other academic information?
Look up the degree plan for your major on the Majors: 4-Year Degree Plans page. You can also find other information in the Academic Catalog, which is uploaded for the coming semester in early August.
