Tassi Dalton

Biography

Tassi Dalton currently serves as a Criminal Justice Professor at Bryan College both online and in the classroom. She loves to teach courses with a focus on the law, policing, forensics, ethics, and investigation. Integrating hands-on activities in the classroom is so important to enhancing the learning experience for a student. Students in one of Professor Dalton’s classes will be able to extract their DNA, take fingerprints, cast impressions, work on a crime scene, and much more. Professor Dalton is a native of Louisiana but is proud to now call Tennessee home. She obtained her Juris Doctorate in 2013 from Southern University Law Center and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2009. She worked eight years in Law Enforcement and has held the titles of Deputy Sheriff, Probation and Parole Agent, Special Agent, and Investigator.

After graduating from law school, Professor Dalton worked for a nationally accredited law firm that focused on class action lawsuits against drug manufacturers and medical devices. Practicing law though was not her passion and she shifted her focus to academia. Professor Dalton has been teaching collegiately since 2016. It is a ministry for her, one in which she can share Christ with
her students while teaching them about the field of Criminal Justice and Law. She brings the work experiences that she encountered while working in law enforcement into her classrooms. Students that are interested in pursuing a career as a lawyer can also gain vital knowledge that can help guide them with the decision-making process.

Above all, Professor Dalton and her family are active members of their small Church, New Beginning. God is first, then family and all other engagements. Professor Dalton and her husband, Derrick, and son, Chandler, run the family farm with over 80 heads of cattle, 1 goat, and 5 dogs. When Professor Dalton is not working at Bryan, she and her family are out on the farm or traveling.
