Summer Institute: Engineering & 3D Design

In the Engineering & 3D Design Track at the Bryan College Summer Institute, students will:

  • Learning about engineering design and 3D Printing through hands-on activities
  • Learn about engineering fields and design
  • Observe aquatic specimens in nature
  • Develop conceptual designs of a fishing lure
  • Utilize technology to design and 3D print projects
  • Create and test a fishing lure design
  • Consider how engineering can further the gospel globally

Engineering Feature
Geoff Knowles, Engineering Chair & Associate Professor

Associate Professor, Dr. Geoff Knowles is the Chair for the Bryan College Vogel School of Engineering, where he enjoys spending time with his students. His education is in civil and environmental engineering, and he has worked in a variety of contexts in engineering, education, and ministry. He teaches several engineering courses from freshmen in  Introduction to Engineering and Missional Engineering, to seniors in the Senior Design Capstone. Geoff is married to his wife Tiffani, whom he met on a summer mission project in college, and has a son and two daughters. He enjoys learning about technology, reading, and active outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, and designing and building projects around the house.
