Bryan College Business Student Ranked Top 10 Globally in Glo-Bus Simulation Competition
A Bryan College business student is earning international recognition after finishing among the top undergraduate competitors worldwide in the Glo-Bus business simulation competition.
Nate Byrd, a May 2026 graduate of Bryan College, ranked in the top 10 globally in the final Glo-Bus standings. Because of his performance, Byrd received an invitation to compete in an exclusive international competition featuring students from 11 universities around the world.
His accomplishment marks the highest overall finish ever earned by a Bryan College student in the simulation.
The Glo-Bus business simulation is a globally recognized academic competition used by colleges and universities to teach strategic business management and leadership skills.
In the simulation, students operate a technology company and make executive-level decisions in a competitive global marketplace. Participants manage areas such as:
Students must respond to changing market conditions and compete against other student-led companies throughout the semester.
At Bryan College, the Glo-Bus simulation is a key part of the senior capstone course, Policy & Strategy, for Business majors.
While Bryan College teams have previously placed among the top 100 global weekly rankings, Byrd became the first Bryan College student to finish in the top 10 worldwide in the final standings.
Faculty members said Byrd consistently ranked among the top global competitors throughout the semester.
Dr. Lyle Smith, Dean at Bryan College, said Byrd’s achievement creates a new standard for future Bryan College business students.
“Nate’s performance sets a new benchmark for business seniors at Bryan College,” Smith said. “We are proud to see him represent Bryan in an international competition alongside some of the top students from around the world.”
