Bryan College Celebrates the Retirement and Legacy of Bruce Morgan After 27 Years of Service

Bruce Morgan

After 27 years of faithful service to Bryan College, the campus community is celebrating the retirement of Bruce Morgan and the lasting impact he has made on generations of students through his compassion, advocacy, and servant leadership.

Throughout nearly three decades at Bryan, Morgan served in multiple roles within Student Life and student support services, most recently as Student Support Specialist in the Academic Resource Center (ARC). Across every position, he became known for his heart for students and his commitment to helping them feel seen, valued, and supported.

A Ministry of Presence and Care

Much of Morgan’s work centered on walking alongside students during both challenges and milestones. Whether through one-on-one conversations, mentoring, practical support, Bible studies, or student programming, he consistently invested in the spiritual and personal development of the Bryan College community.

His influence was especially evident through Mosaic, Bryan College’s multicultural and first-generation student program, which he helped establish and champion. Through Mosaic and his broader work in student care, Morgan helped create an environment where students from all backgrounds could feel welcomed, encouraged, and empowered to thrive.

“Bruce Morgan leaves Bryan with a legacy of integrity and heart for students that has enriched the lives of students for decades,” said Alex Staup, Executive Director of Student Success. “We are grateful for his investment throughout his tenure, which will surely continue to bless students for years to come.”

A Bryan Alumnus Who Returned to Serve

Morgan’s connection to Bryan College began long before his years on staff. A 1982 Bryan alumnus, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army and teach in Christian high schools before returning to Bryan in the late 1990s.

Those experiences helped shape the pastoral and servant-hearted approach that became a hallmark of his work on campus. Over the years, students, faculty, and staff alike came to know Morgan as someone who listened well, cared deeply, and faithfully reminded others that they mattered.

A Lasting Legacy

As Morgan enters retirement, the Bryan College community reflects with gratitude on the culture of care he helped cultivate over nearly three decades of ministry and service.

His investment in students and dedication to Christ-centered education have left a lasting imprint on Bryan College and on the many lives he helped shape along the way.
