Bryan College Debate Team

Bryan College Debate Team: (L to R) Hayden Couvillon, Dylan Flynn, Nathanael Butler, Ella Lipscomb, Gabriel Gillard

Join us on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 6:30 PM for an exciting debate at the historic Rhea County Courthouse. As part of the Scopes100 Centennial Celebration, two talented debaters from the Bryan College Debate Team will go head-to-head on the pressing issue of School Choice.

Debate Topic: Should State and Local Governments Implement a School Voucher Program?

This debate will explore the benefits and challenges of school voucher programs, which allow public education funds to be used for private school tuition or other education-related expenses. Supporters argue that vouchers increase access to quality education and promote competition, while critics warn they could weaken public schools and lead to inequities in education.
