Bryan College Nursing Program Celebrates Future Nurses at White Coat Ceremony

Bryan College Nursing Program White Coat Ceremony

Bryan College’s Clara Ward School of Nursing held its third annual Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) White Coat Ceremony on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Rudd Auditorium, marking an important milestone as students transitioned into clinical practice.

A Milestone for Future Nurses

The White Coat Ceremony represents students’ commitment to compassionate care and clinical excellence. It also reflects the mission of the Clara Ward School of Nursing: to prepare professional nurses who utilize skill, ingenuity, and grace to meet the world’s changing needs while representing the Lord Jesus.

Senior nursing student Haven Beavers delivered the keynote address, encouraging her peers to embrace perseverance, servant leadership, and the responsibility that comes with caring for others.

A Calling to Serve

Dr. Pam Giles, dean and professor of the Clara Ward School of Nursing, emphasized the deeper purpose behind the profession.

“We believe nursing is a calling,” said Giles. “Our faculty are committed to mentoring and equipping students to become competent, compassionate nurses who serve with excellence and faith.”

Ceremony Highlights

During the ceremony, students received their white coats, lamps, and New Testament Bibles. They also recited the Florence Nightingale Pledge and participated in the anointing of hands with oil, symbolizing the sacred trust they carry as caregivers.

The event follows the program’s recent accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in October 2025 and precedes the celebration of its first graduating class in May 2026. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Bryan College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Bryan’s BSN program combines small class sizes, hands-on clinical training, and faith-based education to prepare students for meaningful careers in healthcare.
