Bryan College Holds Official Open House and Ribbon Cutting for the Clara Ward School of Nursing

On April 14th, the Clara Ward School of Nursing hosted an open house and ribbon cutting in honor of Clifton and Clara Ward, marking the official opening of Bryan College’s Nursing facility. Following the ribbon cutting, a reception, and interactive tour were held. After months of preparation, the new space on the 2nd floor of the Livesay Learning Center is ready for our students.

The mission of the Clara Ward School of Nursing is to prepare students to become professional nurses who utilize skill, ingenuity, and grace in order to meet the world’s changing needs, and thus represent the Lord Jesus. Led by Dr. Pamela Giles, Dean of Clara Ward School of Nursing, the Nursing faculty are preparing to mentor, inspire, and educate Bryan’s first-ever nursing students.

Bryan’s baccalaureate degree program in Nursing has already received initial approval from the Tennessee Board of Nursing and is pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. This degree is a generalist degree, providing a broad foundation of knowledge that enables the new nurse to enter the care setting of their choice.

Upon graduation, nursing students can decide if they would like to specialize in their nursing practice and then obtain additional education and training required for that option. The BSN degree also lays the foundation for graduate-level nursing education, either at the masters or doctoral level.

Completed applications for the first Nursing major course were due April 1st, and courses will begin this August. For more information about Clara Ward School of Nursing, visit https://bryan.edu/nursing or their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BryanCollegeNursing
