Adjunct Instructor in Mathematics

Reports To: Chair, Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences

SUMMARY

Bryan College invites applications for a position of adjunct instructor to teach on-campus courses in mathematics or statistics as determined each semester by the needs of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach a maximum of nine credit hours per semester with standard responsibilities.

  • Teach courses at assigned days and times.
  • Plan lessons that address learning outcomes and needs of students.
  • Design, administer, and grade assessments to measure student learning.
  • Administer a final exam at the day and time assigned by the Registrar.
  • Make proper use of Bryan College’s learning management system (LMS) for assigned courses.
  • Maintain an accurate attendance records and gradebooks in the LMS.
  • Submit early alerts for students at assigned intervals.
  • Submit final grades as requested by the Registrar.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education:

Master’s degree in mathematics or statistics (minimum of 18 graduate hours in the field).

Experience:

Experience with classroom instruction preferred.
