Part-Time Event Services Technician

Reports To:  Event Services Manager
Location:  Dayton, TN
Compensation:  Part-time, Hourly (20 hours per week)


The part-time position provides logistical/technical support for various events on campus.



  • Setup & tear down of cables/mics/ stands/lecterns for each chapel.
  • Setup and implementation of video & audio recording each chapel.
  • Providing AV support to and “micing up” guest speakers
  • Provide backup/troubleshooting on sound mixer to Worship Team members.
  • Transferring video and audio files to editing computer and providing backup in editing.

Event Setup/Teardown

  • Setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, stages, sound & AV equipment for events.
  • Running sound for events.
  • Video & audio recording select events.
  • Creating and maintaining a library of layouts and reports for venues/events

Inventory and Maintenance

  • Assist Manager with managing inventory of tables, chairs, sound equipment, video equipment.
  • Assist Manager with routine maintenance of equipment


  • Assist in editing audio and video files

  • Will need to be a servant leader in working alongside student workers to accomplish tasks.
  • Will need to effectively communicate with and train student workers.
  • This position would require regular bending, lifting, reaching, carrying and walking to transport Audio/Visual equipment to and from storage areas to event venues.
  • It also will occasionally involve being in a stationary position for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Auditory and visual acuity will be necessary in running the sound board and in editing audio and video.
