Position Summary

The Student Life Assistant is a permanent part-time position.  The Student Life Assistant reports directly to the Coordinator of Student Services and Title IX/ADA Liaison.

Reports to: Coordinator of Student Services and Title IX/ADA Liaison

Education Required

Associate or Bachelor’s degree, with related experience preferred but not required.

Experience Required

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and execute new programs; General
    programs may include: Moosend, Canva, Excel, Google forms/docs/sheets, eCams, and
    Google Calendar (training will be provided as needed)
  • Ability to respond to written and verbal communications clearly and concisely
  • Good mental agility; ability to easily move from one thing to another
  • Competence in relational, interactive, and supportive skills

Duties

  • Reception/Hospitality: Greet and assist students, Bryan personnel, and college guests;
    Create and maintain a hospitable, welcoming environment in Student Life; Keep the
    office clean and organized
  • Plan and coordinate mini hospitality events to invite students into Student Life
  • Secretarial Responsibilities: Answer the phone and direct calls to the appropriate source;
    Student Communication: Execute communication with students through email; Manage
    the postings on the bulletin board walls in Latimer
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned as necessary

  • Must have a friendly, welcoming personality, the ability to get along well with the public, students, and co-workers, and a desire to provide excellent “customer service”
