We believe that real change starts with knowing our neighbors, so we learn from the best by working with local church and non-profit leaders, volunteering in ways that fit our gifts, building relationships that meet real community needs and growing in Christ-like servant leadership along the way. Below is a list of our ministry initiatives. Contact the PCI Coordinator for more information.
PCI - Practical Christian Involvement
We have many opportunities to work in kids' lives. Whether it's tutoring, the Pals Program (one-on-one mentoring), or partnering with local churches in ministry and tutoring partnerships, there is something for you to do, no matter your skill set. Our Education students earn class credit by hosting the Lion Academy, an after-school club that meets a need in the community and helps foster a love of learning.
We believe every member of the community is valuable, and we work to help make the invisible feel seen and loved. In our Senior Adult Ministry, we visit seniors and lead worship. We work with disabled adults, helping them train for the Special Olympics. Finally, our students volunteer with STRIDE, a therapeutic adaptive horse riding program.
One of PCI's most important goals is helping students become aware and active in their community. Students for Life are raising awareness of the importance of life from conception to death, and by volunteering at the Care Center in our community. Finally, in SSTOP (Students Stopping Trafficking of People) we work for awareness and activism. We host bi-weekly educational meetings, and we spend our time hosting prayer, education events regarding fair trade issues, and the SSTOP Conference every other year. We volunteer with Blazing Hope Ranch, a ministry that helps trafficking survivors heal and recover.
