Saturday commencement to be held in Rudd

5.8_GraduationInRuddDue to a rising chance of rain Saturday, May 10, officials have decided the spring 2014 Commencement service will be held in Rudd Auditorium.

at last year’s commencement This year’s ceremony includes the graduation of 140 traditional students from the School of Arts and Sciences, along with 42 students from the School of Adult and Graduate Studies – including 23 M.B.A. recipients. Graduating senior theatre major J. Lucas “Luke” Fox will give the commencement address to his fellow graduates and their loved ones in the Arts and Sciences graduation, and Dr. Sandy Zensen will offer the address in the Adult and Graduate Studies commencement.

Also making an appearance on campus this weekend are 15 members of the Class of 1964 celebrating their Golden Anniversary class reunion. Friday night offers a reunion dinner with special student-led music and door prizes, as well as a special time of mingling and memories. At commencement, 12 of these special alumni will come forward as President Dr. Stephen Livesay presents them with commemorative diplomas. Dianne Boldt ‘64, one of the “Golden Grads,” will welcome the members of the Class of 2014 into the Bryan College Alumni Association.

A Vespers service Friday night will encourage seniors to reminisce on the years they spent at Bryan, ’Neath the red and gold. Commencement is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Rudd Auditorium. The entire ceremony will be streamed in live time online.
