Stamper, Enochs, Mattoch Earn All-Conference Honors

November 12, 2015 – The conference announced Wednesday night the post-season awards and the Bryan College Lions Volleyball team had two players that earned Appalachian Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference honors in Kara Stamper and Shelby Enochs, while Ashley Mattoch was named to Second Team All-Conference.

Stamper leads the AAC in total kills with 474, and has separated herself from the player ranked second in total kills by a margin of 100 (374). She also leads the AAC in kills per set with 3.7. These impressive numbers rank Stamper 12th in Division I in total kills and 27th in Division I in kills per set. As a junior, she looks to break the all-time total kills record for Bryan College during the AAC Volleyball Tournament this week taking place in Kingsport, Tenn. Stamper earned Player of the Week honors four times this year as Attacker of the Week.

Enochs is the AAC individual stats leader in assists (1,262) and assists per set (9.7).  She ranks 13th in Division I in total assists and 32nd in Division I in assists per game. She has also proven to be a threat on defense, finishing third on the team this season in total blocks (88), putting her sixth in the AAC in total blocks. By collecting 364 total digs, she was second on the Lion’s team in the total digs column and 11th in the AAC in total digs. Enochs earned Player of the Week honors four times this year as Setter of the Week.

Mattoch ranks 13th in the AAC in both total kills (288) and kills per set (2.5). She is second on the Lion’s squad in both categories. Mattoch collected double-digit kills in three of the last four regular season matches, with back-to-back 18-kill outings.

Hope Burnett was the Bryan Lion’s representative to the AAC Champion’s of Character Team, as well as being named to the All-Freshman Team. Burnett finished fifth on the Lion’s team in total kills with 171, second on the team in assists with 33, and compiled 72 total blocks and 17 aces.

Five members from the Lion’s team earned All-Academic honors: Ashley Mattoch, Jessie Sokol, Meghan Wallace, Kristen Parrish, and Kara Stamper.
