November 30, 2018 – For three years, Bryan College has participated in the global giving event called Giving Tuesday. The 2018 event was the most successful Giving Tuesday campaign at Bryan College to date. This year’s campaign was an extension of the college’s annual Gifts for the King fundraiser benefiting the Bryan College Scholarship Fund.
The success began early with preliminary donations in the weeks leading up to the event totaling $30,000. The momentum continued on Giving Tuesday. The college set a goal of raising $15,000 the day of the event. A generous donor committed to matching up to $15,000, providing potential for another $30,000 to be raised.
The match offer proved motivational, and early in the day the campaign had already surpassed the $8,500 mark. By lunch time, donors had stepped up to surpass the initial $15,000 goal securing the entire match commitment and bringing the campaign total to just over $61,000.
This year, students made a huge impact on the campaign. Students readily dropped cash donations at a table set up by the Advancement Department, knowing their contribution would directly benefit other students through scholarships.
A record number of donors also contributed this year, and at the end of the day the total left the college in awe. Thanks to students, alumni, friends, faculty and staff, $73,100 were raised for student scholarships.
The college is grateful for all those who donated, prayed and worked very hard to make this campaign so successful.
