Bryan College ranked first best online college and fourth best college in Tennessee by Bestcolleges.com

Bestcolleges.com Best Online Colleges Tennessee 2018 badgeOctober 11, 2018 -BestColleges.com recently named Bryan College as the best online college in their Best Colleges in Tennessee 2018 rankings. Bryan finished ahead of the 15 accredited online schools ranked and countless other online schools in the state that did not make the list. Bryan College was also named fourth Best College in Tennessee behind Vanderbilt, Rhodes College, and Baptist Memorial College of Health Sciences.

BestColleges.com’s rankings are based on academic quality, affordability, and online competency. Their rankings reflect the most recent data available from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and College Navigator, both of which are hosted by the National Center for Education Statistics.

Bryan earned the number one online college ranking because of the opportunities for discounted or free tuition, making it one of the most affordable online colleges in Tennessee. Both online and on-campus students who complete their bachelor’s degrees at Bryan can earn their master’s degrees at the college for free.

Bryan also offers several free student services and resources, including academic tutoring and counseling,” BestColleges.com wrote.

Through Bryan’s adult degree-completion programs, students can earn online bachelor’s degrees in business administration, psychology, or criminal justice. Coursework for these programs is offered fully online through accelerated, six-week sessions.

Online students can also earn credit based on life experiences.

Bryan College provides undergraduate students with 25 majors to choose from, including biology, Christian ministry, music, and several pre-professional programs, earning the school its fourth place ranking.

Like other respected colleges in Tennessee, Bryan is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges

Bryan College scored a 67.14 for the first place online college ranking and a 66.19 for the fourth place college ranking.


Bryan College listed as 2019 ‘Best College’ by U.S. News and World Report

September 10, 2018 – Bryan College was honored by being named to two different rankings released today by U.S. News and World Report, a respected organization that thousands of families depend on to make an educated choice regarding important college and university decisions.

#40 in “Best Value Schools” (Regional Universities South): According to this ranking’s website, “Only those schools ranked in the top half of their 2019 Best Colleges ranking categories [. . .] were considered for the Best Value Schools list. [. . .]The ratio of quality to price accounted for 60 percent of the overall score; the percentage of all undergraduates receiving need-based grants accounted for 25 percent; and the average discount accounted for 15 percent.”

#68 (tie) in “Best Regional Universities South”: According to a recent U.S. News article, this ranking’s methodology takes into account “up to 15 indicators of academic excellence.” These are then “scored, normalized and assigned weights that reflect U.S. News’ judgment about how much the measures matter.” Moreover, “U.S. News chooses to only publish the individual overall ranks of schools placing within the top 75 percent of their categories.”

Online Business Program Places High in Rankings

January 19, 2018 – Bryan College’s online business program geared toward adult learners has recently received the distinction of placing in two national rankings.

The college has placed #6 in The Best Colleges’ “Top 25 Online Associate in Business Administration Programs for 2018” and #23 in Best College Reviews’ “Top 24 Associate’s Degree Programs in Business Online 2017-2018.” Both of these rankings looked at colleges and universities from all over the country, including Indiana Wesleyan University, Belhaven University, Liberty University, and University of Phoenix (among many others). Rankings were based on factors such as tuition, customization options, and graduation rate.

Bryan’s program boasts 6-week accelerated online classes, a Christian worldview, and competitive tuition rates with financial aid available to those who qualify. Graduates of the program complete all general education requirements for the School of Adult and Graduate Studies, which allows for a seamless transition into the bachelor’s degree program later.

College Choice Places Bryan #11 in “Best Online Colleges in Tennessee”

November 1, 2017 – A recent ranking released by College Choice placed Bryan College #11 in “Best Online Colleges in Tennessee,” outranking competitors such as Tennessee Wesleyan University, Lee University, and East Tennessee State University.

“Online degree tracks, which often don’t require any on-campus classroom attendance, are at the cutting edge of education,” stated College Choice in its introduction to the ranking. “They integrate all of the rigorous academic standards and expansive resources of Tennessee’s thriving colleges and universities, while still allowing students to keep up with the responsibilities of a family or full-time job.”

The “Best Online Colleges in Tennessee” ranking takes several factors into consideration, including but not limited to graduation rate, institutional reputation, student-faculty ratios, and financial aid. Its write-up on Bryan includes helpful information on the distance education program across the undergraduate- and graduate-level online offerings. “Because the undergraduate program is specially tailored to adult learners with existing career or family obligations, most academic pathways offer a format that’s highly flexible and significantly accelerated compared to a traditional course of study,” the ranking points out.
