Serving with Excellence: McAuley and Day Lead Bryan Athletics into the Future

Bryan College Athletics is proud to announce that Head Baseball Coach Clint McAuley will be transitioning into a full-time role as Associate Athletic Director over Operations and Fundraising. After 14 years of dedicated service to the Bryan Athletics community—seven of which were spent as the Head Coach of the Lions Baseball program—Coach McAuley is stepping away from the dugout to take on this expanded leadership position.

Under Coach McAuley’s leadership, the Lions compiled an impressive 209–131 record and earned four NAIA Opening Round appearances (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023). His guidance helped the program thrive, establishing a culture defined by excellence, consistent competitive success, and a deep investment in player development both on and off the field. McAuley instilled a winning mentality grounded in discipline, integrity, and teamwork, while also placing a strong emphasis on academic achievement and spiritual growth.

Before joining Bryan, McAuley held assistant coaching positions at several collegiate programs, including Northeast Mississippi Community College, LSU Eunice—where he was part of a National Championship team—Siena College, and East Texas Baptist University.

In his new role as Associate Athletic Director, McAuley will oversee key areas including fundraising, game day operations, and student-athlete retention. His leadership and experience will continue to strengthen the overall mission and vision of Bryan College Athletics.

“I’m excited about this new opportunity to advance the mission of Bryan College and the Athletic Department. I fell in love with the people and culture of Bryan College 14 years ago and can’t wait to contribute to a place that is close to my heart in this new role. I want to thank Dr. Mann and Dr. Deal for this opportunity and for their leadership. I spent the last 22 years coaching college baseball and will really miss it. I will miss the players who I love and have watched build a culture that I think is the best in the country. However, I am especially excited to see Jordan Day taking over as Head Coach. He has been the best Assistant Coach in college baseball over the last several years and am confident he will continue the growth and development of this program in a way that breeds success and is honoring to the Lord.”

With McAuley’s transition, Bryan College is excited to name Coach Jordan Day as the new Head Baseball Coach.

Coach Day has been a cornerstone of the Bryan Baseball program for over 16 years—first as a player and now as its next head coach. A 2012 graduate of Bryan College with a B.S. in Exercise Science, he competed for the Lions from 2008 to 2012 under former Head Coach Taylor Hasty. His dedication and leadership earned him a spot on the coaching staff in 2013, and he was then promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2022.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Day has played an integral role in the program’s sustained success. He has helped guide the Lions to eight NAIA Opening Round appearances (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023), an AAC Conference Tournament Championship (2014), and an AAC Regular Season Championship (2018). His impact on player development is also evident, having coached three AAC Players of the Year: Justin Morhardt (2017), Fernando Garcia (2018), and Bryson Lofton (2024).

A graduate of Trion High School (Class of 2008), Coach Day has deep roots in both the sport and the Bryan community. He lives in Dayton with his wife, Jessica—who serves as the Head Volleyball Coach at Bryan—and their two children, Kayleigh and Kyrie.

“I am extremely thankful to be in a position to lead the Bryan College Baseball program,” said Coach Day. “I’d like to thank Dr. Jeremy Deal and Dr. Doug Mann for allowing me to continue the tradition laid out by Taylor Hasty and Clint McAuley. I am forever indebted to these men for welcoming me into the program and for being examples of coaches who keep Christ at the center of everything they do. I look forward to continuing the success of Bryan Baseball.”

Jeremy Deal, Vice President of Athletics, expressed his confidence in this new chapter for Bryan College Athletics, marked by strong leadership and a continued focus on Christ.

“Clint and Jordan have both served this program faithfully and with Christ at the center. Coach McAuley’s move into athletic leadership and Coach Day’s promotion to head coach represent a continued commitment to the mission of Bryan College—developing leaders who honor God in all they do.”
