Biography
Alex Horton is in his 4th year with the Bryan College Athletics Staff, serving as the Assistant
Coach of the Men’s Soccer Program & Goalkeeping coach for both the Men’s and Women’s programs.
Horton brings considerable knowledge and experience to the Bryan soccer program acquired while playing in his native UK and as a collegiate 4 season starter with the Lions.
In the UK Horton represented Premiership Leicester City & Burton Albion as a goalkeeper at both Academy & Youth levels, with numerous call-ups to the 1st team squad. Playing in the FA Youth Cup as well as numerous other competitions.
Horton arrived on the hill in 2015 and immediately made an impact starting all 4 seasons as the keeper before graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise & Health Science in 2019.
Horton garnered AAC All-Conference honors all four years while at Bryan, earning a spot on the First Team his freshman year, spending the next two years as a member of the Second Team, and closing out his senior season as a First-Team honoree. A memorable feat accomplished by the Nuneaton, England native was during his sophomore year when he became the first player in program history to be named NAIA Defensive Player of the Week. Horton consistently earned the title of AAC Defensive Player of the Week during his time as a Lion.
Horton holds a UK FA Level 2 Outfield Licence & US D license as well as extensive strength & conditioning experience from his time developing and running that program.
Away from soccer Horton resides in Dayton TN, is the proud father of Greyson and loving husband of Courtney whom he met at Bryan.
