Biography

Born in Tampa and raised in Orlando, Florida, Dan graduated from Orangewood Christian Highschool in 1989 and journeyed to Dayton. A 1993 Bryan College graduate, Dan played soccer for Bryan while earning a BS in Biology/Pre-med (during which time he successfully played many pranks on a Woodlee-Ewing dorm neighbor and RA, Dr. Mann). After choosing a Chiropractic career over Orthopedic surgery, Dan graduated from Life University in 1998 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. In 1999, he began private Chiropractic practice in Whatcom Co., Washingtom State.

After 10 years of meaningful friendship, he married Kimberlee Hays (1995 Bryan alum and volleyball player) in 2001. Kimberlee is currently a 10 th grade geometry teacher at Rhea County Highschool. They have 3 children: Hannah 21, Zac 19 (both 3 rd gen. Bryan students), and Noah 15. In 2021, Dan was diagnosed with Leukemia, underwent chemotherapy treatment and is now in full remission as of May 2026.

In his Chiropractic career, Dan has 25 years of experience in diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, conditions and structural joint disfunction. His passion and specialty work is with extremity joints, sports injury diagnosis utilizing applied kinesiology, orthopedic/neurologic testing and advance gait analysis for examination. In April 2024, a third shoulder injury resulting in 2 surgeries ending his full time Chiropractic career. Without delay, the same day he read his own MRI, Kimberlee discovered the job posting on the Bryan College website for an EHS professor. Immediately, after prayerful consideration, they undeniably felt the Lord’s guiding hand moving the family back to Dayton.

Dan’s personal interests are rooted in God’s creation, as he longs for the ocean’s coastlines, surfing, hiking, camping and deep forest exploration, particularly in the pacific northwest. He and Kimberlee are New Union Baptist Church members and are excited about further ministry work in the Dayton community.

As a primary care provider, patient education regarding body mechanics is essential. The transition to collegiate teaching in the classroom has overall not been difficult, because the Lord has blessed me with all these years of clinical experience and knowledge of patient’s bodies that I can now pass on to my students. This pales in comparison with the amazing opportunity to share the word of God and my testimony with students, developing positive mentoring relationships with these future health care field workers and educators. It is said, as professors and teachers, we often have a lasting impact on our students. The pleasant surprise for me is the realization that it is they who h significant impact on me, praise the Lord.
