Biography
Brian Hill was born and raised in northern New Jersey. Early on, he developed a strong interest in understanding the natural world. His interest drifted from biology to chemistry when he discovered how much fun a good chemical reaction could be. His parents probably wondered why they always seemed to be running out of vinegar and baking soda.
Dr. Hill majored in Biophysics and Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania. While there, he was quite active in a Christian Fellowship group on campus. He then went on to the University of Virginia for graduate school. While there, he was finally forced to do something he had been avoiding up to this point: teaching. He found that he loved it. He left U. Va. with a master’s and has been teaching full-time ever since. His only break from teaching was a one-year sabbatical to finish his Doctorate at Middle Tennessee State University.
Dr. Hill has been married since 1986. He and his wife Linda have eight children and seven grandchildren (so far). He is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton. When not teaching, he wages a one-man war against poison ivy and kudzu.
