Biography

Stephanie Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Psychology. She graduated from Bryan in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in biblical studies. Shortly after graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, Devon. After marriage, she quickly pursued her master’s in professional counseling through Liberty University and graduated in 2016. She worked as a foster care counselor with Youth Villages for three years aiding children and families to heal trauma, overcome it, and find new beginnings. Following God’s Plan, she ended her time with Youth Villages after starting a family in 2019 to begin private practice back in her hometown of Dayton, TN. She is a licensed professional counselor with a mental health service provider designation and continues to serve her community through counseling when not serving students in the classroom. She thoroughly enjoys seeing growth in all aspects of life and cherishes spending time with individuals as they share their stories. She feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to rejoin the Bryan community as faculty to continue building relationships and supporting students as they prepare to leave Bryan and strengthen the Church with the knowledge they’ve gained.

To have the opportunity to teach alongside some of these individuals who took part in my life throughout college is truly a blessing. I pray that God can use me in the ways He used them to make an impact in each of my student’s lives, daily.
